WokStar Express introduced seven plant-based versions of its Western-Chinese favorites, developed with custom VeganReady seitan. Food Foto Thailand created the launch photography for menus, delivery platforms, websites and social media.
The shoot covered the formats customers would actually see: branded takeout boxes, restaurant plates and combo boxes. Each meal was photographed from a 45-degree angle and from directly overhead to give WokStar a flexible image library for the full campaign.
7 PLANT-BASED DISHES · BOXES, PLATES & COMBOS · 45-DEGREE & OVERHEAD VIEWS
WokStar Express built a loyal following with Western-style Chinese comfort food, quick delivery and bold branding. At the time of this launch, the business operated eight branches across Bangkok, Koh Samui and Saigon. Its identity was already well developed, from the graphic language of the menus to the takeout boxes customers recognize immediately.
The plant-based range brought VeganReady’s custom seitan into seven WokStar recipes: Sweet & Sour, Zesty Lemon, Citrusy Orange, Kung Pao, Chinese Curry, Szechuan and Sticky Sesame Plant-Based Ribs. Every dish needed to look as satisfying as the established menu while giving customers a clear view of texture, sauce, vegetables and portion size.
That made brand recognition a practical part of the photography. The WokStar box appears throughout the campaign because packaging is part of the product experience. A customer scrolling through a delivery app can identify the restaurant before reading the full description.
The final photographs also had to sit comfortably beside WokStar’s established campaign material. Bright sauces, crisp vegetables and seitan texture were kept vivid without pushing color beyond a believable food finish. The branded graphics remained readable, and each setup left enough clean space for menu labels or promotional copy when required.

The image list followed the way WokStar sells its food. Branded takeout boxes support delivery advertising and reinforce the chain’s visual identity. Plates give the dishes a cleaner restaurant presentation for websites, menus and editorial layouts. Combo boxes show customers exactly how a complete order arrives.
Combo packaging has less visual polish than a styled plate, yet it carries important sales information. Customers want to see the portions, sides and arrangement they will receive. Photographing those details reduces uncertainty and gives the marketing team useful material for bundles, promotions and ordering screens.
We photographed the dishes individually first. That preserved consistency while the food was fresh and gave the client strong standalone images. The box groupings and larger arrangements came later, once the full range was prepared and ready to be brought together.
Most dishes were photographed at a familiar 45-degree angle, which shows height, texture and the front edge of the plate or box. The overhead set required a C-stand to position the camera safely and accurately above the food. That equipment is uncommon on a basic location shoot, but it gives the client a second composition that works especially well for square social posts, delivery apps and graphic menu layouts.
Food Foto Thailand brings the lighting, grip equipment and support needed to create studio-quality work inside the client’s venue. Multiple lights keep color and contrast consistent from one dish to the next. We use multiple cameras, with one mounted on a tripod for the angled view and another mounted on a C-Stand for overhead work. Photos are sent wirelessly to multiple screens during the shoot, so the team can review framing, focus and detail immediately without moving a camera or rebuilding the set. By the end of the day, WokStar had a larger and more versatile image library.
For WokStar, those multiple views supported a polished launch across every customer touchpoint. The photographs could sell the flavor of the dishes, show the practicality of the packaging and preserve the confident visual standard already associated with the brand.
